Graduate Students' Association

Lakehead  University Graduate Students’ Association (LUGSA) founded 2007, is a not-for-profit governing body for all full- and part-time graduate students from both Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses. As being the initial movement for graduate student representation throughout the university, we have been focused on principles of development, determination and action. Our goals and objectives are to;

  1. Promote and maintain communication with the university community including its administration and to represent its full members and their interests within the university.
  2. Promote the welfare and interests of the members through the provision of facilities and opportunities for social, athletic and intellectual activities.
  3. Advocate and lobby the needs and concerns of graduate students both academic (interface between students and administration) and social (interface between other associations and groups).
  4. Promote and represent any or all of the collective interests of its members, including operation of a social club, as well as the operation and promotion of and for graduate students’ society.
  5. Maintain a house for its members with accommodations and conveniences of a club and provide suitable quarters and entertainment.
